Best selling author, Michele Monro will have her book 'The Singer's Singer, The Life and Music of Matt Monro' available to purchase in store at Victoria James on 30th November and 14th December.
The books will be signed by Michele. The music of her father, Matt Monro, will also be played in store all day.
‘The Singer’s Singer: The Life and Music of Matt Monro’ is a touching biography of the man and much-loved performer who sang Born Free, From Russia With Love, Walk Away and Portrait of My Love. This in-depth portrait on her father has already been re-printed five times since its release and has been a hit across Europe, Australia, S.E Asia and the United States. The author was presented with an Irwin Award for Best International Campaign from the book publicists of Southern California and Titan Publishing presented the author with another award for Outstanding Sales.
Michele has made regular appearances on BBC Breakfast television, BBC London News, QVC, Friday Night is Music Night and The One Show together with hundreds of worldwide radio interviews, which have seen the book enter both Amazon and Waterstone’s bestseller’s lists. She continues to be a popular guest on radio and had a regular weekly spot on Siren 107.3FM for five years whilst also producing one hour specials for Hospital Radio.
Matt Monro’s music has appeared in Coronation Street, Eastenders as well as television campaigns for Harvey’s Furniture, Siemens Kitchens, Foxy Bingo and Cow & Gate. Sky Arts recently licensed an exclusive concert from the Estate for a two-year period, which is being aired every few weeks.
The last few years have been very busy for the author including embarking on a worldwide book promotional tour including the USA and Australia. She also brought her unique brand of talks to Celebrity, P&O, Princess Cruises, Cunard, Cruise and Maritime, Fred Olsen and Royal Caribbean. The author recently launched a new project ‘Lights of the Caribbean’; a portfolio of extraordinary photographs that Michele has taken on her travels and she is currently writing a series of cruise port guides for disabled cruisers. The coming year sees another full schedule on the cruise ships.
