Dragon’s Den Backed Allergy Kit Installed at Telford Centre

An emergency anaphylaxis kit has been installed at Telford Centre, located at the Customer Service Desk, and is providing a readily accessible resource should an allergic reaction emergency occur.

The kit is from a UK start up, Kitt Medical, who were backed by Deborah Meaden during an episode of Dragon’s Den. It contains adrenaline auto-injectors (commonly known by brand names ‘Jext’ or ‘EpiPen’) and is intended for use by trained members of the Telford Centre team, but can also be used by members of the public if needed with the instructions clearly written on each pen.

Telford Centre joins a number of other leading sites who have installed these kits including; Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, O2 Arena, DHL sites and Centre Parks.

Sonny Stewart, Dual Services Manager at Westgrove Facilities Management at Telford Centre said “ The installation of the anaphylaxis kit at Telford Centre is a proactive step at addressing the importance of recognising the risk of a severe allergic reaction in the work place, or by one of the centre’s visitors. We want to ensure our team have access to the appropriate tools and training should they need it.”

“Safety has always been a priority at Telford Centre, which also has three defibrillators at the centre and first aid trained staff across the security, car park, housekeeping and management team. The Kitt medical initiative helps to support and reinforce the centre’s commitment to ensuring our teams feel well prepared and supported in their roles, creating a safer workplace and environment for everyone.”
