Staff at The Perfume Shop Take On 26 Miles Trek for Charity!
Two intrepid members of staff from The Perfume Shop, here at Telford Centre, are embarking on the incredible Trek26 Peak Challenge, raising money for The Alzheimer’s Society.
Kayla and Jude will take on the challenge, which takes place on 27th June. The 26 mile route starts and ends at the town of Bakewell, picking up the river Derwent and glorious Chatsworth House, before heading North and up to amazing views from Curbar Edge. From there the route goes through Stoney Middleton and Great Longstone then joins the Monsal Trail with views over the stunning Monsal Head viaduct.
Research commissioned by Alzheimer’s Society, shows that around a million people in the UK have a form of dementia. This is projected to rise to 1.4 million people by 2040. One in three people born today will develop dementia in their lifetime.
Jude has been personally affected by the devastation of Alzheimer’s, having lost her Grandad to the illness 10 years ago.
Jude and Kayla of The Perfume Shop said: “We enjoy a challenge and wanted to take on something that would challenge us personally while also helping to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society. The Perfume Shop supports Alzheimer’s Research UK as one of their charity pillars and have done so for many years, so this seemed like the perfect fit for our store’s charity pledge this year.
